FAQs

How long does it take to complete an envelope project?

I need at least two weeks to do a job. So take that into consideration when determining the mail-out date. PLUS—you should factor in time for yourself to stuff, stamp, and check for any errors. A last-minute job (I have less than two weeks’ time before mail-out date) will typically add $50.00 - $100.00; this fee is dependent upon the overall job quantity.

How many envelopes do I need to provide?

You may need to add an additional guest at the last minute AND also, don’t forget—I am human, I make mistakes! A good rule of thumb is to supply at least 10-12 extra per 100 to be sent out. Your stationer should be able to accommodate this easily if informed in advance.

How far ahead of my wedding should I mail my invitations?

Mail out 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding—more, if guests will travel from great distances. That means I will need the envelopes and mailing list at least two weeks before that date! It is not unusual for summer brides to mail invitations a full 8 weeks in advance of popular summer wedding weekend dates.

How do I choose a style of lettering for our work together?

There are a few choices to make and I will go over them with you when we discuss the details of your project. I have samples of popular styles of lettering, or I can also match the lettering used in your invitation design.

How do I send you my mailing list, do you have a sample?

You may send the list as an attachment, or give me a hard copy. I will only accept Microsoft Word or Google Doc files set up as specified under the pricing and guidelines page. This is a critically important part of our collaboration and your attention to detail is essential here. I can send you a sample doc if you need me to do so.

Is there anything else I will need to provide?

Because I am always building and updating both a hard copy portfolio as well as my website pics, I ask to have one complete invitation set which includes invitation, envelope(s), response card, etc. *NOTE: The invitation will not be displayed/posted until after your celebration.
