Process
You have that quotation that you jotted down on a folded-up, worn-out piece of paper or napkin, or saved on your laptop/phone because it resonated with you. How does that become an artistically transformed creation that reflects your connection to it?
You want to add a name to a very formal certificate, or perhaps create the certificate itself for a special event? How does that become artistically transformed to reflect your ideas?
And then there are any number of other possible ideas you may have for commemorative pieces, or one-of-a-kind keepsake books or journals—what are the ideas floating in your head?
And what can I do with those ideas to help you create that final product? How do your ideas for a project/job converge with the skills I have to offer? To determine that, we must begin with the end in mind (thank you, Mr. Covey!).
What final product do you have in mind? Here are some I have done over the years:
An invitation design for a wedding / special event
Envelope addressing for a formal wedding or special event
Place Cards for a celebration/reception event
Table placards
Event Favors that may need a hand-written touch
Menus, Guest Book inscriptions
A broadside commemorating Vows exchanged
A favorite quotation, poem, excerpt from a book, story, etc
Because each commission is so different there is no one set price. Pricing fluctuates to suit the job at hand. Determining a price for your commission takes into consideration the overall ‘size’ of the project (length of quotation, type of certificate needed, etc.) and certainly reflects the following aspects:
A set-up fee
The approximate overall time on task to complete the job
Basic supplies (paper, ink/colors, nibs/pens, any other writing materials)
Gold leaf and/or other materials as warranted
The commissioned pieces shown here are examples of what I have done and am able to do. If you do not see anything that falls in line with your idea, just know: I love challenges, and embrace the prospects of taking on new and different projects!
Please contact me for a project you have in mind and after a discussion about details, I will give you a free estimate.
